 Highlights of the seven-week program include:
  • Class 1A drivers license
  • Service equipment
  • Operate combines & tractors (grain carts)
  • Transport equipment
  • Handle grain
  • CPR/First Aid and Farm Safety

Start Date: TBA
Location: Assiniboia
Tuition: may be waived, and a training allowance provided, for registrants who meet the following criteria:

1. Unemployed at program start date.
2. Have a Saskatchewan Hospitalization Number
OR
3. People receiving EI benefits, contact your nearest CanSask Centre to obtain funding for tuition and books as well as living allowance while attending the program.
 

Pre-requisites

~1A Learners Licence
~Medial Certificate
~Must be able to cross USA/Canada border
~Clean driving abstract
~May be interviewed by a selection panel

The staff at Southeast Regional College will assist students in finding lodgings for the duration of the program.

A Custom Harvester is a professional person who harvests a variety of crops, on a contract basis, for other farmers throughout the North American grain belt.

This individual will experience challenge and adventure in various climates and cultures from southern USA to the northern prairies.
